The PROWARP® was launched at ITMA 2015, followed by the development of solutions that allow customers to tailor the performance of the highly efficient, flexible sectional warping machine exactly to their needs. In particular, quality management can be adapted to specific production targets. "A manufacturer of airbags has to meet completely different quality specifications than a player in the fashion industry," says Tobias Kraus, Product Developer in KARL MAYER's Warp Preparation Business Unit. KARL MAYER has developed PROACTIVE-Warping to manage the warp beam quality for different requirements. The well thought-out system comprises three levels of expansion, with which the scope of information available increases in each case. Level QM1 is part of the regular equipment of the PROWARP®. It provides standard production and process overviews derived from the machine configuration, for example logs with data on warping or direct beaming quality. As an optional offering, QM2 records further quality parameters and provides an evaluation by means of a clear star system. The server-based solution can be used for several machines. QM3 extends the range of monitored data to the yarn tension of each individual bobbin in the creel.
