Saving energy through warp knitting

Independent study by Gherzi shows: Warp knitting consumes significantly less energy than weaving Learn more

Warp knitting technology is one of the most efficient surface forming processes in the textile industry. Modern high-performance tricot machines produce up to 80 meters of greige fabric for clothing per hour. But is the environmental balance sheet right as well as the output?

KARL MAYER, the world's leading manufacturer of warp knitting machines, got to the bottom of this question and arranged for a study to be carried out by the independent consultancy firm Gherzi. The results were available in February 2022. They show the sustainability performance of warp knitting compared to weaving in the production of articles that can be manufactured equally with both technologies. The comparison reveals: Warp knitting offers clear ecological and at the same time also economic advantages.
