Laprotex is a pioneer in the textile industry in Mexico. In 1996, the warp knitting company was one of the first companies in the sector to receive ISO 9001 certification for its quality management system. This was later followed by certifications to ISO 45001 for an occupational health and safety management system, and to ISO 14001 for an environmental protection management system. In August 2020, Laprotex products were marketed for the first time with the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® - Class I label. Here, too, the company was a pioneer: it was the first time that warp-knitted textiles from Mexico received this label.

Last year, Laprotex also set standards in the field of digitalization: at the end of August 2021, the first high-performance tricot machine of the digital generation delivered to Mexico was put into operation. KWP editor Ulrike Schlenker interviewed Carmen Sofía Alcalá from the company's management team to find out how the latest acquisition, an HKS 3-M ON, is proving itself in production and why Laprotex opted for this machine.
