What happens when young creative people experiment with professional design software? This exciting question arose for multidisciplinary designer Sophie Neff of KM.ON when she introduced eleven students to digital knitwear design and industrial flat knitting in a two-month seminar at the University of the Arts Berlin. The central focus of the seminar was the training in the software k.innovation CREATE DESIGN. The goal was to have the students understand the basic functions of the solution developed by STOLL and KM.ON and to use the software for their own tasks, which were challenging. They had to create a mood or concept board and derive at least three virtual knitting patterns from it. Finally, a virtual item of clothing had to be produced.

Sophie Neff was excited to see what creative, talented minds would do with the software to expand the boundaries of knitwear and virtual fashion. And she looked forward to feedback from the students on working with k.innovation CREATE DESIGN.
