On September 28, 2022, CUBE, the world's first building made of carbon concrete, was ceremonially inaugurated on the campus of the Technical University (TU) Dresden. The construction project lasted two years and was based on the bundling of individual research results from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research's construction research project C³ - Carbon Concrete Composite. The aim of the CUBE project was to design and manufacture components suitable for practical use, including carbon reinforcements from biaxial and weft knitting machines. The result is impressive - in terms of design, but also with regard to the environmental balance.
